I am a part-time teacher, having reduced my hours several times. I have little enthusiasm for the job and an Ofsted inspection two years ago graded a lesson of mine "inadequate", which knocked my confidence for six. A more recent lesson was "satisfactory", but this is no longer good enough in today's world, and I would be unlikely to get another job when every school is asking for "outstanding" teachers.
During a gap in teaching I worked in libraries and as a teaching assistant, which I found much less stressful, but felt under pressure to return to teaching once my daughter was older. Efforts over the past year to find another job have not been successful, and I am caught in the trap of having to give at least half a term's notice, which precludes many positions outside teaching as they tend to advertise at the last minute.
On top of all this, my drive to work is nearly an hour each way, and I would like to find a job closer to home. Please help me to move forward out of this muddle.
